Education During Blackout: Charitable Foundation "Children's Future" and "Optima" Provided Access for Students Grades 1-5

Last year, widespread power outages were observed throughout Ukraine. But even in such extremely challenging circumstances, the aggressor failed to halt the educational process. Ukrainian students had the opportunity to access education for free. We believe that education is the power that will allow our children to grow brave and ready to change the country's future.

How Did It All Begin?

Starting from November 2022, the lack of electricity forced children and parents to worry about studying in extraordinary conditions. Schools also suffered serious damage: infrastructure was destroyed, and education in occupied regions was suspended.

The Charitable Foundation "Children's Future" together with the online school "Optima" took responsibility for the future of Ukrainian students. In this challenging time, when education was under threat, we provided free access to educational resources for students in grades 1-5. This opportunity was utilized by 3332 children.

What Are the Project's Features?

The program provided free access to high-quality educational resources for children from grades 1 to 5. Materials were developed with special attention to pedagogical standards,
considering the needs of younger students. The "Optima" platform has open access around the clock, allowing children to continue studying at their convenience.

The main advantage was that access to education was absolutely free. Therefore, everyone could pursue education, regardless of their social status or financial capabilities. This initiative aimed to provide little Ukrainians with the opportunity to continue learning and growing even in the toughest times.

How Was It Implemented?

Anyone interested could get free access to educational materials on the "Optima" platform. On the project's website, it was necessary to submit an application, providing the following information:

● student's first and last name;
● grade level of the student;
● preferred form of learning;
● contact phone number of parents or legal guardians;
● email address for communication.

Since free access to education was primarily intended for socially vulnerable children facing difficult life circumstances, it was also necessary to indicate the category to which the student belonged. For example, this could include information about parents serving in the military, deceased in the war, a child evacuated from combat areas, suffering from post-traumatic consequences, or other health issues. After reviewing the applications, students were granted free access to education.

How Can You Help?

You can join the current projects of the "Children's Future" foundation and help us provide free access to education to as many students as possible. You can support us financially directly on the project's website. Every donation matters, as it's a way to ensure access to education for those who need it most.
Your financial support will contribute to expanding the program so that little Ukrainians continue learning even in challenging circumstances. Together, we will improve the level of education in Ukraine, doing everything possible for a better future!
