In this article, we have gathered valuable advice from educators to help students review materials even in extraordinary conditions. Despite the difficulties, young Ukrainians must continue their education, and we are ready to support them in this challenging task.

Catching Up with the School Curriculum Without Stress

Learning in times of war poses both a challenge and a necessity. But this process can be made effective, productive, and accessible to everyone.

  1. Study at Home.
The first thing to do is to create comfortable conditions for studying at home. Set up a space where you can fully concentrate on lessons. Be prepared in advance for alternative lighting options during war times: battery-powered lamps, flashlights, etc. If the information learned at school proves to be insufficient for a full understanding of the topic, explore it independently. Libraries, the internet, extracurricular classes at school, and extracurricular activities – these tools will help expand knowledge and make up for lost time. Learning in times of war requires students to not only be persistent but also flexible and ready to actively work on their own development.

  2. Plan Your Day.
Create a study schedule during war times, clearly defining the hours for each subject and for breaks. It's also important to consider the schedule of power outages to plan main activities during hours when electricity and the internet are available. Learning in times of war should be based on the principles of consistency. Remember that short but intensive study sessions are much more effective than long hours of continuous memorization of complex material. Such a schedule will help maximize the use of available time and preserve your productivity even in conditions of limited resources.

  3. Seek Support.
If you have the opportunity to contact teachers or classmates, don't hesitate to ask for help. Clarify necessary information, ask for explanations of difficult topics, or arrange for online lessons via messengers. It's easier to overcome difficulties and continue learning in times of war together. Collaborating on projects and supporting each other will contribute to improving communication skills, which are important in any sphere of life.

  4. Focus on the Essentials.
Compile a list of what must be learned. The list should include specific grammar rules from the Ukrainian language, basic mathematical formulas, important dates and names of historical figures, key concepts from other subjects. In times of war, it's important to focus on the basics of the school curriculum, direct your efforts towards studying fundamental aspects, in order to quickly catch up on missed topics and prepare for new tasks.

  5. Utilize Available Resources.
Learning in times of war doesn't mean giving up on quality education. To catch up on missed topics, it's important to use all available resources: textbooks, study guides, summaries. Find available video lessons, educational programs, and apps. All of this will be needed for self-study and reviewing topics, even when school conditions don't allow for learning in the usual way.

  6. Be Disciplined.
Learning in times of war requires students to have more self-discipline and motivation. Set clear goals and deadlines for yourself, try to stick to them regardless of external circumstances. Complete tasks on time, and in your free time, relax, talk to friends, engage in favorite hobbies. Remember that even in times of war, learning is the most valuable investment in your future career and personal development, and despite the difficulties, your efforts will always be rewarded.

Success is Achievable!

Learning in times of war is not easy, but with the right attitude and perseverance, you can quickly catch up on missed topics. We wish you success, may new knowledge open up endless opportunities for you!
